Mozart Art Gallery

Mozart Gallery is the only art gallery in the city of Kottayam.Located in the village Aymanamnear Kottayam, the Gallery is a joy and sigh of relief for all the art enthusiasts.This village formed the background of the award-winning novel “The God of Small Things”.
A private venture of a notable artist, M. Somu, Mozart Art Gallery is located in the residential apartment of the artist. Most of the paintings displayed in the Mozart Art Gallery are based on the controversial “God of Small Things” penned by Arundhati Roy, which won the Booker Prize in 1997. The Gallery has become one of the major attractions for all art lovers across the state. One can also take a walk through the village and enjoy the charm and natural beauty bestowed on the village.
The Mozart Art Gallery showcases the finest paintings done with rare techniques by the artist.
The distinguishing feature of the paintings and sketches displayed here is the use of multitude paints
ranging from oil paints to water colors, from charcoal to pencil, even combinations of multiple media.

Naranath Branthan  (The madman of  Naranam ) is a character in  Malayalam  folklore. He was considered to be a divine person, a  Mukhta  who pretended to be mad. His chief activity consisted of rolling a big stone up a hill and then letting it fall back down. Unlike  Sisyphus , he acted on his own volition rather than under the influence of a curse. There is a large statue of Naranath in Pattambi,  Palakkad  district of Kerala where he is believed to have lived. Naranathu was born as the son of  Vararuchi , the famous  astrologer  who adorned the court of  Vikrama . Naranathu was one among the twelve offsprings or the  Parayi petta panthirukulam (12 children born from the  Pariah  woman), of  Vararuchi  and was brought up in the  Naranathu Mangalathu Mana , situated at  Chethallur  in  Palakkad .
